Actual B'day Celebration

We had Kitana's party the weekend before her birthday this year. So I still tried hard to make sure she felt extra special on her actual birthday.

Her morning started out with the traditional birthday balloon and her big present from mom and dad.

We skipped breakfast in bed this year for a new tradition! She went to breakfast with her Grandpa Koontz since they share the same birthday and got free breakfast at Denny's. She loved it!

Just a picture of Zara chillin' on Kitana's birthday :)

Her birthday happened to be on dance class day, which also happened to be their dress rehearsal for their recital. (recital post coming soon!)

Her big surprise of the day was the movies! We didn't tell her what we were doing until we were on our way. She had never been before so she wasn't quite sure what we were trying to explain to her. But quickly caught on once we arrived. We did the whole movie experience complete with popcorn. She's never had popcorn with so much butter before and kept saying it was kind of "sweet" which is funny that that was the only word she could figure out to describe that kind of taste. She got a little scared at a couple of parts and sat with me. Also, we ditched Zara and enjoyed an evening with just the 3 of us. It was really nice to get to spend so much quality time with her...I just soaked it all up!

Paul's parents also treated us to Red Lobster for dinner to finish off the birthday celebrations. When we got home Kitana opened her last couple of presents and is super excited to be able to use her umbrella and rain boots this winter!

  1. Kate just made her Christmas list from this post...she wants that baby thing in the first picture, a new umbrella and new boots, and balloons. Little girls are all the same! Too funny!
